Istanbul Gelisim University was founded in the year 2011 and it started its educational journey in the year 2015-2016.

The university contains 3 faculties,4 vocational schools and 3 institutes for post-graduate studies. It was also launched and established under the goal of becoming a universal university.

The university contains around 30,000 international students in the year 2021-2022, and the university offers 76 undergraduate programs,92 master’s and associates degree programs, 32 thesis programs, 30 non-thesis programs for the post graduate studies and 6 doctoral programs.

In the year of 2021, the program of dentistry in the Turkish language was opened in the university.
