About Sabanci University

Sabanci University: With the advancement of science, technology and social structures day by day, The world needs more qualified individuals who have the knowledge and skills to pursue a career anywhere in the world.

By recognizing this pressing issue, the Sabancı Group decided in 1994 to establish a “global university” led by the Sabancı Foundation. Sabancı University seeds were born, The most comprehensive social responsibility project of the Sabancı Group in the field of education.

In the summer of 1995, at a research conference attended by 50 academics from 22 countries in addition to students and representatives from the private sector.

However, the conference was just the beginning, as it was the beginning of a wide-ranging process during which the leading educational institutions in Turkey and around the world were examined to see how they worked and to identify the fundamentals that made them successful.

In the end, instead of choosing one university as a model or repeating examples and institutions that are already there, a new and unique university was designed. Since 1999, when students started enrolling, Sabancı University has established itself as a model for many universities.
